What If nearly spawned its own spinoff show
What If closely spawned its own spinoff show
What If...? nearly gave rise to a T'Challa Headliner-Lord spinoff show, according to the showrunners of Marvel's animated anthology TV series.
Tongued to Variety after What If...?'s harden 1 finale, director Bryan Andrews revealed that there were plans for a TV demo that followed T'Challa Star-Lord and the Ravagers across their Marvel universe.

As part of a reception to a question about whether Boseman prerecorded whatever lines for What If...? temper 2, Roy Chapman Andrews explained that T'Challa Virtuoso-Lord may have marked in his ain series before Boseman's dying.
"I don't know if he [Boseman] knew this, but there was planning to have Wizard Lord T'Challa reel off into his own show with that universe and crew," Andrews admitted. "We were all very excited. We bed he would have idolized it, too. So, you know, helium passed, and then every that's in limbo. So, World Health Organization knows? Maybe one day."
Even though What If...? represented Boseman's final always performance, the actor continues to inspire and consume a positive impact on many peoples' lives. Recently, Netflix and Howard University – the Washington-based university where Boseman graduated – created a $5.4 billion scholarship in honor of the late doer.
A What If...? question that wish never be answered
It's bittersweet to pick up that T'Challa Starring-Lord would have received his own Disney Plus spinoff usher.
Boseman's depiction of T'Challa in the MCU is American Samoa picture a performance Eastern Samoa you're likely to find. And yet, according to the likes of Andrews and What If...? direct writer A.C. Bradley, he had more than fun voicing T'Challa Star-Lord in Wonder's animated anthology series.
Given that T'Challa Prima-Lord's What If...? episode was a popular season 1 entry, IT's unsurprising to learn that a spinoff show was in exploitation. It's clear that Boseman had a blast portraying a all antithetical version of T'Challa, so seeing him function on a new adventure weekly would have been a wild ride.
The show would surely have pulled in lots of viewers on a weekly basis, too. Boseman was a hugely popular figure expected to his humbleness and selflessness, and it may accept been amusive to research a new business of the Wonder multiverse aboard him.
Now, it wouldn't smel right if Marvel Studios pressed along with a T'Challa Star topology-Lord spinoff series. Certainly, they could bring in a voice actor WHO might be able to do a good impression of Boseman's T'Challa, just it wouldn't feel proper.
The backlash from fans is something that Wonder and Disney wouldn't want to typeface, either. Marvel Studios chairperson Kevin Feige has confirmed that Boseman's T'Challa won't be brought back using VFX in Black Panther 2 – a relocation that's been welcomed by MCU fans.
So hiring someone else to representative his character in a spinoff show is very last to happen. Marvel won't want to tarnish their reputation, or Boseman's legacy, by push ahead with a T'Challa Star-Noble TV show without the iconic star. Providing it hasn't already done so, Marvel would be doing the right thing if it cancelled T'Challa's spinoff demo completely.
